- Stepping into the extraordinary sanctuary of Tupátaro, often called the “Sistine Chapel” of the Purépecha culture. Its richly painted interior is a hidden masterpiece—intimate, symbolic, and deeply moving.
- Visiting the workshops of Capula and discovering the intricate puntillismo technique behind its iconic ceramics. Meeting the artisans, witnessing their process, and experiencing a living tradition where every piece is crafted with patience, precision, and soul.

MARCH 8
Welcome to vibrant Mexico City! Upon arrival at Benito Juárez International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to our hotel in the historic center. In the evening, we gather for a festive welcome dinner to meet fellow travelers, savor regional cuisine, and introduce the magical journey ahead.
MARCH 9
The moment we’ve all been waiting for. We ascend into the forests of El Rosario to witness millions of Monarch butterflies in their sacred winter home. The silence, the fluttering wings, the golden light — it’s a spiritual experience beyond words.
MARCH 10
Today we will be dazzled by Santa Clara del Cobre. We will visit its museum, learn about the techniques of working with copper, and explore the renowned workshop-museum-gallery of the Punzo family—an experience that will delight all the senses.
MARCH 11
Today we will visit Pátzcuaro. Our first stop will be the fabulous mural by Juan O’Gorman, which portrays the history of Michoacán. We will then visit the Plaza de los Once Patios and explore the work and symbolism of Berta Servín. We will continue to Santa Fe de la Laguna to meet master artisan Nicolás Fabián and enjoy an extraordinary lunch prepared by traditional cook Nana Rosario.
MARCH 12
We will travel to the heart of Purépecha culture in Tzintzuntzan, where we explore pre-Hispanic yacatas (terraces) and meet master artisans of copper, ceramics, textiles, and woodwork. Discover how the Monarch butterfly inspires local craftsmanship and serves as a living symbol of transformation. In the evening, we are hosted by acclaimed Chef Lucero Soto for an intimate dining experience that reimagines Michoacán’s culinary legacy through storytelling and flavor. A feast for all the senses.
MARCH 13
Today we will visit the Clavijero Cultural Center, as well as the Museum of Sweets. We will then continue to Cuitzeo to admire its remarkable murals, where art, history, and symbolism come together within a stunning former convent setting, offering a glimpse into Mexico’s rich cultural legacy.
MARCH 14
Today we will enjoy the traditional dances of Michoacán at the festival known as K’uinchekua. It will be a moment of joy and delight—not only in its rich culture, but in the deep emotion of witnessing, on a truly unique stage, the beauty that Michoacán offers to the world. We will experience iconic dances such as the Danza de los Viejitos, with its playful yet profound symbolism, the Danza de los Kúrpites, full of youthful energy and courtship traditions, and the Danza de los Pescadores de Pátzcuaro, which evokes the rhythms of lake life and ancestral memory.
MARCH 15
Today, a wonderful day awaits us. We will visit the “Sistine Chapel” of the Purépecha world in Tupátaro, a hidden masterpiece filled with color, symbolism, and devotion—an intimate and deeply moving experience. We will then continue to the capital of the Catrina, where we will learn about the delicate puntillismo technique.

Private transfers are arranged to either Morelia or Mexico City airports. You return home with your heart full and your spirit awakened — inspired by the Monarchs, touched by México’s living history, and enriched by new friendships that will last a lifetime.
