I will meet you at our hotel in the center of México City; we will have our welcome dinner around 6:30 p.m.
NOVEMBER 6
We will begin our journey with a visit to the extraordinary Rivera Chapel at Chapingo University, an unforgettable space that beautifully integrates art, spirituality, and Mexican identity. In the afternoon, we will explore the workshop of the Ruiz Brothers, where we will learn about the art of bone carving and admire their exquisite, internationally renowned creations.
NOVEMBER 7
Just a few months ago, a wonderful new museum was inaugurated in honor of the iconic artist Frida Kahlo. Today we will visit La Casa Roja in Coyoacán, and afterward, we will make our way to the León Trotsky Museum, a truly fascinating place that sheds light on a remarkable chapter of Mexico’s cultural and political history.
NOVEMBER 8
Today we will travel to the beautiful city of Cuernavaca, where we will visit the extraordinary Robert Brady Folk Art Collection, explore the historic Palace of Cortés and its magnificent Diego Rivera murals, and continue to Xochicalco to admire its remarkable architecture. We will end the day in the enchanting silver city of Taxco, where we will spend the night.
NOVEMBER 9
Taxco will dazzle us with the exquisite beauty of the Church of Santa Prisca, while we wander through charming cobblestone streets and discover silver workshops filled with artistry and tradition. Every moment in this romantic city invites us to slow down and savor its beauty. We will also visit the luminous murals by Juan O’Gorman at La Posada de la Misión—an unforgettable encounter with one of Mexico’s most imaginative artists.
NOVEMBER 10
Back in Mexico City, we will explore the tranquil canals of Tláhuac and visit the workshop of the great Folk Art Master, Pedro Ortega, where we will learn about the tradition of papel picado and the extraordinary artistry behind it. We will discover how this delicate paper—vivid, colorful, and beautifully ephemeral—creates moments of joy that live at the very heart of Mexican folk art.
NOVEMBER 11
Today we will enjoy two world-class museums: the Franz Mayer Museum, with its magnificent collection of decorative arts, and the National Museum of Art, home to an exquisite selection of Mexican masterpieces. In the afternoon, we will visit the murals of the Abelardo Rodríguez Market, learning about the remarkable artists behind them—Raúl Gamboa, Ángel Bracho, Ramón Alva de la Canal, Miguel Tzab, Antonio Pujol, and Pedro Rendón—together with American artists such as Marion and Grace Greenwood and the sculptor Isamu Noguchi. These murals reveal a powerful visual narrative of social history, workers’ struggles, and everyday Mexican life—an extraordinary encounter with art beyond museum walls.

On our final day, we will visit Tepotzotlán and enjoy a fascinating tour of the Museum of the Viceroyalty, where extraordinary architectural and pictorial masterpieces illuminate the splendor of New Spain. We will then continue to the Padre Tembleque Aqueduct, an astonishing feat of 16th-century engineering.
